heh language differences are cool

its neat how in english you say ‘take your own life’ to refer to killing yourself

whereas in french its ‘s’enlève la vie’ which means the opposite, removing your life

tbh the french version makes more sense

its reminds me of my friend back in school, how she always said ‘you’ll suicide yourself!’ I thought it was cute because it was a direct translation of the french version ‘se suicider’

I had to tell her its redundant to say suicide yourself because you’re repeating ‘yourself’ twice, but rather ‘commit suicide’ so you’re commiting to the action of killing yourself
